Was a cold and windy morning as Rayson-Miller's members prepared for and held their annual Veterans Day ceremony honoring all veterans. A technical glitch in playing our National Anthem was immediately solved by all as they joined in and sang the remainder of the anthem! Bill Smith, Town Supervisor spoke and Daniel Barnes, Acting Post Commander opened his speech announcing that Al Herdklotz was at that very minute undergoing major heart surgery and asked for all to keep him in their prayers. The ceremony concluded with a reception at the Post home with the help of Pat Rahn, Rita McGurn and her daughter Heather. Rayson-Miller Post 899 would like to thank Betsy Mehlrose, Town of Pittsford for her help with the programs and providing goodies for the reception: Bill Smith, Pittsford Town Supervisor, Bob Corby, Pittsford Village Mayor; Dr Dana Goodnough, Pastor Pittsford Community Church; Todd Long, President Pittsford Fire Association, Boy Scout Troop 129; Rayson-Miller Post 899 Color Guard, Rifle Squad and its members; and Donna Barnes for providing audio. Also a special Thank You to Toni Stevens Oliver's Fourth Grade Class at Thornell Road Elementary School for the special cards and gifts for the Post members. And member Jerry Rachfal's grand-daughters Rebecca & Natalie Fullerman for remembering our members and sending special cards to our Post for the members.
